The Project Management Institute (PMI) encourages every candidate to utilize the online certification system while applying for any of the credentials. Nevertheless, printable application forms are also available.
Once you start with the application process it cannot be cancelled, however you can save your unfinished application for completing it later. The PMP application will be open for 90days during which you will be receiving reminders to complete your application process.

The Application Processing Time
The timeline is dependent on how the application is submitted: online/paper through email.
The typical processing time for online applications is 5days and for the paper based it is 10 business days for an individual and 20 business days by companies
If you are a PMI member the exam comes at a discounted rate for you. So, the cost is dependent on the PMI membership status with the variables like geographic location and examination delivery type.

Scheduling The Exam
Before scheduling your exam read the PMI’s exam scheduling instructions and then schedule an appointment on the Prometric website.
Do note your examination confirmation details and the 16-digit confirmation number.
Rescheduling Your PMP Exam
You are eligible to reschedule your exam dates up to 2 days prior to your original scheduled date. Please note an additional fee may apply.
