ev electra will launch first lebanese car in february

Lebanon is going through a tough time right now. An uncontrollable Covid-19 pandemic, tumbling economy, and dormant government to name the least. With so much going wrong, one company has managed to see light at the end of the tunnel.

EV Electra, a Lebanese manufacturing company, has announced that it will soon launch the first purely Lebanese electric vehicle. The launch is expected sometime late February or early March with the model name “Rise” according to the company’s owner, Jihad Mohamad.

Now, I know what you’re thinking. Who in Lebanon has the money to buy a new car these days? Let alone an electric one (in a country that can barely power the basics). Well, EV Electra announced that they’ll be providing Lebanese citizens with two special offers that will help finance the car.

EV Electra Rise Specs

  • Power: 240 Horsepower
  • Range: 400 km
  • Top Speed: 230 km/h
  • 0-100km/h: 4 Seconds
  • Battery: 45 KWH Li-ion

Renders of the Rise from EV Electra’s website seem to show off the sleek exterior design, Lamborghini-style doors, as well as the 8 different color options. At first glance, it kind of looks like a Toyota Supra from the front, and a Rolls-Royce Wraith from the side, right?

Looks aside, it will be interesting to see how EV Electra will expect buyers to charge the vehicle once sales start. What are your thoughts on the upcoming Rise? Let us know in the comments below!
